We know that the name Firespring practically begs the question: “What is Firespring?” (Or sometimes the question: “WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?!”) Lately, we’ve been getting that question more and more.

READY TO KICK IT OLD SCHOOL?

To really learn who Firespring is, let’s go back to the days of flannel and the Macarena. In 1992, we opened our doors as a print communications provider in downtown Lincoln, adding a second location in Omaha in 1995. We soon began to sense that this new “internet” thing might catch on and started developing websites for local businesses backed by a fancy doohickey known as a content management system.

Eventually, the print and web branches of the company went their separate ways and began to operate as independent entities. Much like Journey, our hearts were broken in two, two, two.

REUNITED AND IT FELT SO GOOD.

Firespring and Cornerstone Print & Marketing moved back under the same roof (1201 Infinity Court, if you want us to name roofs) in 2012.

Still, the family felt incomplete. Maybe it was all the space in our new, 65,000-square-foot facility. Maybe it was the excruciatingly long time it took to kill the keg when there was crappy beer on tap. Or maybe it was the realization that there was even more that we could offer our clients.

THEY GROW UP SO FAST.

That’s where local advertising agencies Snitily Carr and 42 come into the picture. On June 1, 2015, all four companies joined forces, and Firespring became one of the largest marketing communications firms in the Midwest with more than 200 team members. The merger enabled us to offer an unmatched range of integrated print, creative and technology solutions, as well as an unparalleled number of people who come to work ready to bring it every day, have each other’s back and give a shit. (Those are our values for those keeping score at home.)

In light of all this growth, we decided it was time to expand our horizons geographically too. Cornerstone’s Omaha team joined forces with print services providers CopyCat, MinuteMan, United Enterprises and Mail Marketing to broaden our presence in Omaha and add a new location in Council Bluffs.

AND THAT’S THE WAY WE ALL BECAME THE FIRESPRING BUNCH.

You could say that we’re a force to be reckoned with; we say that we’re a force for good. In 2014, we became the first Certified B Corporation in Nebraska, joining TOMS Shoes, Ben & Jerry’s, Patagonia and more than 1,400 companies leading a global movement to redefine success in business. In November 2014, Firespring donated $1 million to Nonprofit Hub to incubate a coworking facility in downtown Lincoln so they can help nonprofits achieve more through collaboration and education.

Firespring’s Certified B Corporation status cements our core purpose of leveraging our people, products and profit to do more good.
